Create your account and organization
Sign up at mintcarb.com
Click 'Get Started Free' and enter your work email. You will receive a verification email — click the link to confirm your address. MintCarb does not accept personal email addresses (Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail) for organizational accounts, as your account is tied to your company domain for multi-user management.
Complete your organization profile
After verification, the onboarding wizard prompts you to enter: (1) Company legal name and CIN/GSTIN number — used to pre-fill CCTS and BRSR templates; (2) Industry sector — MintCarb maps this to the correct BEE notification and emission factor set; (3) Country of primary operations — determines which regulatory frameworks appear in your Compliance dashboard; (4) Reporting year convention (April–March for India, January–December for global); (5) Organizational boundary method — Operational Control, Financial Control, or Equity Share (GHG Protocol Chapter 3).
What happens automatically
Once your organization profile is saved, MintCarb pre-configures: the BEE emission factor library for your sector; the applicable CCTS compliance deadline calendar; BRSR reporting templates if you are a SEBI-listed company; and the correct GWP values (IPCC AR6 is the default; AR5 is available for CDP historical comparisons).

Roles in MintCarb
MintCarb has five built-in roles: (1) Organization Admin — full access, billing, user management; (2) Sustainability Manager — full access to all modules, cannot manage users or billing; (3) Data Editor — can enter and edit emission data for assigned facilities only; (4) Verifier — read-only access to assigned inventories plus the ability to raise findings; (5) Viewer — read-only access across all reports and dashboards.
How to invite team members
Go to Settings → Team → Invite Member. Enter the work email address and select a role. For Data Editors and Verifiers, you can optionally restrict access to specific facilities. The invitee receives an email invitation valid for 72 hours. External third-party verifiers (from your audit firm) can be invited as Verifiers without being given access to your billing or admin settings.
MFA recommendation
We strongly recommend enabling TOTP-based multi-factor authentication for all Organization Admins and Sustainability Managers. Go to Profile → Security → Enable Authenticator App. MintCarb supports any TOTP app (Google Authenticator, Authy, Microsoft Authenticator). MFA will be mandatory for accounts processing CCTS submissions in 2027.
Add your facilities
What is a facility in MintCarb?
A facility is any physical location — a manufacturing plant, an office building, a warehouse, a data centre — that generates emissions within your organizational boundary. Under India CCTS, each Designated Consumer typically has one or more registered facilities corresponding to BEE-registered units. MintCarb tracks each facility independently and rolls them up to the company level.
Adding a facility
Go to Facilities → Add Facility. Enter: (1) Facility name and unique code (e.g., PLANT-HYD-01); (2) Physical address and state/district — used for the correct BEE regional grid emission factor; (3) Facility type (manufacturing, office, logistics, etc.); (4) Production capacity and unit (e.g., MTPA for steel) — used for GEI calculation; (5) BEE registration number if the facility is a Designated Consumer; (6) Assign a Facility Manager from your team.
Facility reporting boundaries
For each facility, define which emission sources are within scope: stationary combustion, mobile combustion, process emissions, fugitive emissions (Scope 1); electricity and purchased steam (Scope 2). Scope 3 boundaries are set at the organization level. MintCarb provides a boundary definition template aligned with the GHG Protocol Scope 2 Guidance and ISO 14064-1.
Enter your emission data
Manual data entry
Navigate to CarbonSense → Emission Entries → Add Entry. Select the facility, reporting period (monthly is recommended for CCTS; quarterly is acceptable for BRSR), emission source category, and enter the activity data (e.g., litres of diesel consumed, kWh of electricity purchased). MintCarb automatically applies the correct emission factor and calculates tCO2e. You can add supporting evidence (fuel bills, meter readings) directly to each entry.
CSV/Excel bulk import
For large volumes of data (100+ entries), download MintCarb's import template from CarbonSense → Import → Download Template. The template includes field definitions, allowed values, and worked examples for each emission source category. Completed templates upload in seconds and are validated before commit — unit mismatches, date overlaps, and missing mandatory fields are flagged with row-level error messages.
Locking your inventory
When all entries for a reporting period are complete and reviewed, lock the inventory. A locked inventory cannot be edited without creating an audit-trailed amendment. This is required before generating any compliance report or initiating third-party verification. Locking is the equivalent of signing off on your data before it leaves your organization.
Generate your first report
Choose your report type
Go to Reports → Generate Report and select from: GHG Inventory Summary (internal), CCTS Annual Submission (BEE format), BRSR Principle 6 Disclosure (SEBI format), GRI 305 Emissions Disclosure, CDP Climate Change Response, EU CBAM Embedded Emissions Report, or Custom Report (any combination of sections).
Review and export
MintCarb generates the report in under 30 seconds. Review the output in the in-platform viewer, add your signatory details, and export as PDF or the format mandated by the regulator (XML for CCTS, Excel for BRSR). All reports are archived in your document library with version history.
Request third-party verification (optional)
When verification is required
Third-party verification is mandatory for India CCTS submissions and recommended for CDP, BRSR Core, and any public net-zero claim. MintCarb's verification module supports ISAE 3000 (Revised), ISO 14064-3:2019, and ISSA 5000 standards. You can assign your existing verification firm or request a referral to a MintCarb-accredited verifier.
How to initiate verification
From your locked inventory, click Initiate Verification → Assign Verifier → Invite by email. The verifier receives access to your inventory, emission entries, and evidence documents. They can raise findings (non-conformances), request additional documents, and issue a Verification Statement — all within MintCarb. You receive a signed digital certificate (format: MCV-26-XXXX) on completion.
Pro tip: Start with one facility for one year
Most organizations have complete data for one facility and one historical year sitting in Excel or ERP exports. Start there. Complete a full inventory cycle — entry, review, lock, report — to build confidence before uploading all your data. MintCarb's import validator will catch errors before they reach your compliance reports.
